I've never done this before. But what the hell - you only live once.
So here goes. I've joined Blogtoberfest 2010
Day 1
My give away.
I feel I'm cheating a bit - but this fat quarter from Ink and Spindle is what I will be giving away.
It is a limited edition, hand screen printed fabric by independent Melbourne based designer Lara Cameron for the Tamarillo range.
I cloose this as today is also Lara's birthday today. Hip Hip Hooray! This print is a canvas weight (approx 360gsm) fabric. The basecloth is a GOTS certified fair trade organic cotton, herbally dyed with madder root to achieve a beautiful natural, subtle shade of red. Colour: Snow on Tamarillo.
To win.....leave a comment below and just tell me what you would create out of this 48cm x 48 cm piece of fabric.
My giveaway will finish on Saturday 16th October

That's a gorgeous print. I can imagine someone using it as a basis for embroidery but I would probably showcase it in a bag or journal cover as I like faster projects. Cherrie
it's such a gorgeous print! everytime i see it used anywhere it catches my eye :D
i think it'd make a great cushion, so it would be on show for the world to see. or maybe on a canvas frame, hung on the wall like the work of art it is :D
happy blogtoberfest!
That is a gorgeous giveaway!
I love that print and I think it would make a great skirt for me! Yep, I would totally add some plain panels and make a skirt for myself. Happy Blogtoberfest!
I love this print and like the previous comment I would use it either for either a cushion or canvas. It is to nice to cut into any other way.
Happy Blogtoberfest
I would create an even larger fabric stash - some fabric's too nice to use so I keep it in a pile at the top of my wardobes and get it out and look at it and stroke it and put different pieces together and have ideas and then try different pieces together.
Then I put it away again.
Until next time.
I am not alone you know!
nice giveaway!
X
What a lovely print. I would turn it into a new wallet for me and a matching diary cover for next year.
i love this fabric! i remember seeing on ink and spindle's blog that someone had embroidered over it and added things like spiderweb's, creeping vines, trees and so on to the houses which i thought was a great idea!
if you could bear to chop into it it would look great sewn onto some cards and sent out as personalised moving house cards too - which i will be doing at the end of the year!
Oh my, it's gorgeous! I'd use it to create covers for notebooks - I often make my own notebooks and mini albums, and love using fabric to cover them. This would make a great cover for a mini about everyday life, or about places I've lived, for example - OK, my mind is buzzing now!!
And welcome to Blogtoberfest :-)
I love ink and spindle! I would probably have the intention to make a bag but I haven't been able to cut into their fabric yet so the reality is it would probably just sit there looking gorgeous!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I want to make gingerbread men out of it! with a touch of white embroidery ...
yum - thank you for the giveaway ... come visit me Day Two x
Oh I think this gorgeous fabric is screaming out to be a clutch or small bag!
Happy Blogtoberfest!!!
I would absoloutely make a cushion out of this lovelyness - the popular choice it seems but quite necessary over here - we have so many naked cushions right now!!
Here is to a fun & post filled Blogtober!
i love it. curtains.x
Definitely a handbag for me! I have been looking for a nice print for a new handbag for ages. If there is anything left over it might turn into some patches on a quilt as well!
It's gorgrous. I would love to create a cushion, a clutch, a bag, frame it... just love it. newest follower! Cheers Gem
and welcome to blogtoberfest... its so much fun!!!
What can I create from a 48 x 48cm piece of fabric... BROOCHES!!! LMAO... But i would rather frame that fabric instead hehe... Thanks for entering my giveaway too!!
xo Steph
I would have to use it to make a cushion to sit on much loved day bed.
I think it'd make a great centre for a medallion quilt. Good luck with your new shop - it looks lovely!
I love it when people take stunning fabric and stretch it over canvas frames to make a picture to hang on the wall. I think this would look STUNNING hanging on my wall ;-)
That is beautiful. I see a handbag or purse with it
What a wonderful giveaway! I love the rooftops fabric, and the tamarillo is particularly lovely! I think it would make a great bag feature panel, though I'm sure there'd be many other things I could use it for, too!
I will have to try and pop in to your shop next time I'm over that way - not often enough, these days unfortunately, but maybe soon!!
Well, I love Lara's fabric, love, love, love red (or tamarillo) and would have to use it in this gorgeous little paneled bag pattern I purchased at the last quilt show in Melbourne.
Lovely print, I think I would turn it into a sunglasses case for my handbag, or use as part of a handbag, or maybe use small pieces of it in a whole set (handbag, purse etc)
I love the print and as it is on a good strong fabric it would be perfect to use to make my laptop case
I can see it in a vintage-style handbag or clutch. And so many other things!
lovely fabric, great print. truth told i would look at it lovingly for quite some time, probably stash it for a wee while but ultimately i think it would make a tres chic set of embroidery hoop frames for the wall where they could be admired by all
I would make a notebook cover and a pencil case for my daughter. Thanks for the giveaway!

I would make a city bag.. oh wait, use it to trim a dress for my daughter, no wait some shorts for my boy. Gosh darn it, I have too many options to pick right now!
It would have to be a bag, beautiful fabric!
to be honest it will probably sit on a big pile on my sewing table for a long long time...not very inspiring but true :)
Whoo hoo. Definitely a bag. It's a beauty! Thanks for the chance to win.
gorgeous fabric! I think I would make a cushion or maybe a laptop bag for my new laptop
Ohhh, so hard. I wouldn't want to cut it up so it would have to be something nice and big like a center panel in a quilt or in a big black ikea frame on the wall.
Happy Blogtoberfest!
frame it / stretch on canvas? cushion? maybe cushion, and if there are any scrap pieces, use them as pockets on a skirt or bag (would look great against denim I think...)
Ooh how lovely! I think I'd make another Ink and Spindle covered photo album like this one here: http://bellgirl.com.au/2010/09/present-week-till-christmas-photo.html
I think I would make a huge cushion to toss onto the couch!
I LOVE ink and spindle's prints and now I am on the other side of the world from them all! I could make a feature cushion, but that is a bit boring, but it would look great as a lamp shade or a seat for an old upholstered chair that has been done up and painted!
I would make a journal cover with it - it's a lovely rich red, absolutely gorgeous. Would make me feel I'm flying over the world, into my imagination!! Thanks for the chance to win, Lara x
i love that design, one of my favourites from ink & spindle. i would make a summer clutch :) love red colour!
My original thought was cushion but now having read through all of the other comments I am torn btn that and a panel in a skirt.
My daughter has requested I make her a satchel for her b'day. This would be perfect :-) Thanks for such a fab give away.
I would frame it and make it into a picture for my bedroom.
Cool, I'd probably make a panel for a bag, or a skirt.
Oohhh the possibilities!
I would either use it to make appliques on t-shirts, or make little framed artworks on mini easels to give friends as house warming presents.

love the colors! i reckon i'd make me a wallet - it will be my first time ever trying too. :) thanks for the giveaway.
I would make a Wall Hanging - have wanted to for a while, this fabric looks just right :-) Posted your giveaway in my side bar too and joined your blog :-)
It's beautiful, Thanks for the chance!
I think they would make lovely bags or kitchen towels.
I would like to sew a pillow or a lovely bag. thank you for this chance. hugs
What gorgeous fabric - I'd have to make myself a journal cover or a cushion cover or a pencil roll or I could just stare at it a while!!
Thanks for the giveaway.
Love the fabric...I'm not sure why but it just screams kids stuff to me, maybe because it kind of looks like old school houses....I don't know. But I think I would make a fabric covered art journal for each of my kids...or something fun for the kids play room...ooohh what about a floor cushion for the kids to sit and read on the floor. That would be cute!
Thanks for the chance to win some amazing fabric!!
~Teresa :)
Wow, that is gorgeous. I love it!
I'm unsure what I'd make because I'd be spending so much time looking at it. I'd definitely make something that was just for me, perhaps a little bag! My son might like a little adventures bag too. :-)
This is an awesome giveaway. Thank you for the chance!
That's such cool fabric - it would make a great handbag or wallet:)
I would use some of my stash, and make a tablerunner with it. Thanks for the chance of winning it so I can make it! Hugs Naomi
Beautiful gift!
Would establish a cushion or perhaps a panel to the wall ...
Greetings!
